Mirez Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 As requested in another thread, pics of the car now sporting 18" RS6 Alloys instead of the 16" Ford Ghia ones. Still at original Ford height, my drive is too steep for any of this lowering marlarky, it occationally catches the front splitter as it is! Hopefully of some interest! Quote
jkspoff Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 They look great, can I ask, how much were they and did it include tyres ? I'm seriously considering getting some they look that good. Quote
jkspoff Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 Wow, they even do buy now pay in 12 months ! I think I'm gonna copy you and go for the same ones, as I need 2 new tyres anyway, so will work out good value, and if I stick the old ones on ebay I think I could even break even ! Excellent find, I'll be PM'ing you for the discount code if thats ok ? Quote
jkspoff Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 Wheels on order, they looked so good, I've ordered a set.Anyone want to buy a set of excellent condition Ford Galaxy Ghia 16" alloys with tyres ?Two tyres are nearly new, and one tyre thats ok and one tyre that just about needs replacing. The wheels will be from a 2004 registered Galaxy (latest mkII model) with 60k miles. Quote
searcher Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 I used to have a set of the Rs alloys on my old gal and they looked fab. I just got fed up with kerbing them  Quote
Mirez Posted June 1, 2008 Author Report Posted June 1, 2008 Well we'll see if that happens! To be fair, the main reason I went for them was that the ford ones were "minging" with the laquer pealing and I needed new tyres - tyres alone were the best part of Quote
searcher Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 For what youd get for the old ones i would keep them in the garage. When the day comes you want to sell the Galaxy a dealer wont give you anymore for the 18" wheels so put the original ones back on and sell the 18" on Ebay. I learnt this the expnsive way a few years ago with a Mondeo fitted with 18". The dealer woulnt offer anymore fow the wheels but once he saw the car he only wanted it with the 18" ones Quote
jkspoff Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 Can't wait to get mine on, they should be with me by the end of the week. Bought mine on interest free buy now pay later 12 months ! Might keep the Ghia alloys....question.......when I come to put them on I have a trolley jack, where is the best place to jack the Galaxy up with minimal damage ?? Obviously not on the sills ! Quote
searcher Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 Look a bit further under and jack it where the bottom suspension arm thingy is bolted to the floor Quote
jkspoff Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 Put the new wheels on today, same as Mirez, they look great, here are a couple of pics, great buy and good value, plenty of grip from the tyres too. :19: Quote
searcher Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 (edited) Wow they look very nice GIT :19: What width tyres did you go for and what off set ? Edited June 6, 2008 by Adrian.. Quote
jkspoff Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 Yep, very pleased with them, all I need to do is not curb them, been parking a foot from the curbs ! The wheels are 18", standard springs at the moment, the tyres are 225/40/WR18 extra load, 5/112 ET35, well recommended by Miraz. :19: Quote
